God Save the King

“Now can your see, by the dawn’s early light,” our English brethren engaging the fight!

“The shot heard round the world” may now only be but a dim reminder of the cost paid for freedom, yet it’s a burden not easily shouldered, that passes from generation to generation. Our brothers and sisters of the Isles have countenanced that fact and now taken the initiative, exposing the hypocrisy of the existing government. Expressing themselves as free and independent Christian people, English citizens have risen to the occasion, demonstrating their unwillingness to overlook the obvious, even flying the national flag – the Cross of St. George, regardless of legal consequences. Good on and waves across the water from us here in America, even as we ourselves contemplate whether of not we’ll have the self-same courage to be so bold. And while the English and their Irish compatriots have broken ground, pray their example is contagious, to the extent that the entire Christian world rises in protest. Glory be to God, if I may, and a pox on Parliament!

While immigration run amuck may best be described as multiculturalism gone awry, the reality signals sometime far more omnious – mob-rule by government consent. And yet, while confusion benefits neither the common-good nor the security of the country, ideas of proper restraint begin to percolate long before the pot begins to boil. It should come as no surprise then to find limits having been placed on human organization for a reason and by virtue of God himself. Ideals embedded within religious narratives for millennia, we find once again worth defending. Although inspirational, they are yet cautionary in their telling, these Bible stories. Revealing much about the rise and fall of civilizations, as well as the aspirations and failures of humanity…and angels; there remains the fact that there is a direct correlation between what happens down here on earth and the dictates of heaven. And while some may ask, where is God in all this, it has been said, and rightly so, that “In Him we live and have our being” (Acts 17:28). Along that line then it may be of some interest to note that it has always been the cry of the oppressed that has moved God to intercede. Not surprisingly then, one could say that true religion is a justice movement just waiting to happen. One whose primary ideology is configured to either reform or upend any system that runs contrary to the will of God, even as his intercession, often evidenced through the acts of normal people, continues to bear witness to his very existence.

That there is this innate quality within humanity which seeks justice and mercy, or fair play, above everything else, is still plainly evident, as can be seen in the most recent course of events transpiring in the British Isles. A large and growing segment of the English population is beginning to argue for what they know is right, and they know it, not only by a spirit of conviction, but by virtue of scripture, as it confirms what many know in their heart. And headless of how their actions might put them at cross-purposes with government, their in it for the long run so it seems, as retreat at this stage of the game is no longer an option. From a religious perspective then, the current trend of standing up for what’s right, by making your voice heard, many indeed be tangible evidence of the Holy Spirit at work. If so, the Neo-cons have ample reason to be concerned, for if God is in it, no power on earth can prevent it. In that token, it could be said then that America itself is ripe for such an intervention; not through ANTIFA, Black Lives Matter, or any other wokeness, but an honest to God spiritually regenerative revolution, comprised of ordinary people who’ve reached the limit of their sensibilities when it comes to the widening chasm between government and the consent of the governed.

Referring to myself as a Na'Daisha Dene Athabaskan Christian Chaplain, I can only reiterate what was spoken over me at my Second Baptism: "The Lord has called me from my mother's womb, and made mention of my name among her people. He has made my mouth like a sharpened sword. In the shadow of his hand he has hidden me, and like a polished shaft within his quiver, he has hidden me--for a time such as this." (Is. 49: 1-2)
